Material List

Everlite®

Everlite® is available in two types: polyether polyurethane foam and polyester polyurethane foam. The difference lies in whether the main raw material, polyol, is made of ether bonds or ester bonds.

Although they are both flexible polyurethane foams, there are significant differences in their properties, and each should be used for its own purpose.

Durability Heat resistance (℃) Highest Approximately 90℃ Approximately 100℃
Regular use Approximately 70℃ Approximately 70-80℃
Water and moisture resistant Highly stable and resistant to deterioration Deterioration tends to be particularly rapid under high temperature and humidity, alkaline or acidic conditions.
Oil resistance Swelling and loss of strength Little swelling and little loss of strength
It will recover if you remove the oil.
Weather Resistance It is fine for indoor use, but deteriorates gradually outdoors. Slightly better than ether-based
Sound absorption Good Good
Thermoformability Good Good
Generally superior to ether-based
Frame lamination (heat fusion) Good material for frame lamination Good
Cell Uniformity Normal Good
Generally superior to ether-based
Size Generally, it is difficult to change the size of the cell. Easy to create various cell sizes
Coloring (when foamed) Easy Easy, vivid colors
Punching property Generally good When punching, the edges may stick together
Improved punchability is good
Abrasion resistance Good Good
Generally superior to ether-based
Examples of suitable applications Cushioning material, clothing, packaging material, sound absorbing material Materials for cleaners, speaker edges, sound absorbing materials, heat insulating materials, and other industrial materials
