Responsible for developing equipment for the production line.
Please tell me your reasons for joining the company.
I was looking for a company where I could utilize my previous experience in production technology, and that's when I came across Archem.
As a company that spun off from Bridgestone, I felt it was in a period of further growth, and I also felt that it would be an environment where I could actively challenge myself with new things in line with the company's growth, so I decided to join.

Could you please describe your current job responsibilities?
My main responsibilities involve electrical design work for factory production equipment. Specifically, I'm involved in everything from hardware design, such as circuits and machinery, to developing software (programs) to control the equipment, and even on-site commissioning and startup. This work significantly impacts product quality and stable supply, so I feel a great sense of responsibility and fulfillment in my work.

What do you find rewarding about your work?
There's a great sense of accomplishment when we complete the launch of a new production line. We have many discussions and adjustments with stakeholders, and there are difficulties along the way, but the rewards are all the greater. Also, when working on equipment improvements, it's encouraging when workers on the factory floor thank us for making their work easier, and it makes me feel like I'm contributing to the organization.
Are there any memorable experiences you've had in your work?
In my first year at Archem, I had the opportunity to work on replacing equipment at a group company's factory in Guangzhou, China. Specifically, the project involved replacing aging equipment used for injecting raw materials. Although I had worked with equipment in my previous job, the equipment differed significantly depending on the product, and because Archem has established strict standards since its time as Bridgestone, meticulous checks and adjustments were required. Furthermore, differences in language and culture sometimes prevented the work from progressing as smoothly as planned. For example, in Japan, it is customary to finalize detailed specifications before placing an order, but locally, the prevailing style is to adjust specifications after the order has been placed, requiring flexible responses to adapt to differences in the supply chain. Despite numerous difficulties, with the support of the local staff, we were able to successfully complete the project. While I felt the difficulty of reaching agreements in a different culture, I also learned its importance, and I consider it a very valuable experience.
What do you value most when it comes to your work?
It's all about human connections. Work is something that can't be done alone. A single production line can only be completed with the cooperation of various stakeholders, such as superiors, teammates, factory staff, and subcontractors. That's why I make it a point to maintain close communication on a daily basis, and to build good relationships not only through online means like email, but also by meeting and talking face-to-face on-site.

Please tell me about the appeal of Archem.
I feel that this company offers flexible working arrangements. It's easy to take time off for personal reasons if you plan ahead. Also, the rate of male employees taking paternity leave is high, and many people, both male and female, are able to balance work and private life.
Please tell us about your future career vision and goals.
I would like to continue improving my skills by being involved in a wide range of domestic and international projects. Specifically, I envision being involved in launching new production lines, and I would like to contribute to the company through equipment design, setup, and improvement.
