Interview with Hiroyuki Kanamori

Please tell me about your previous work experience.

I joined Bridgestone Chemitech Co., Ltd.'s Fujinomiya Plant in 2008 as a mid-career hire and worked in manufacturing. In 2009, I was transferred to the Yokohama Plant for an extended period, where I was in charge of the side-impact process. In 2022, I was appointed foreman of Manufacturing Section 2, and I am currently involved in the management and operation of the manufacturing site.

Please tell me about your current responsibilities.

Since joining the company, I have built my manufacturing career solely in the Moran foaming process at the Fujinomiya Plant. In January 2025, I became a foreman, and now, as a manager and supervisor, I am in a position to lead people. My main responsibility is process management of the functional material product "Everlight Moran®" from foaming to processing. On-site, I focus on the "six major management areas" of safety, disaster prevention, environment, quality, process, and cost, and I conduct daily operations while being mindful of smooth communication. I feel a sense of fulfillment as a foreman and personal growth by demonstrating leadership and supporting the workplace.

Are there any memorable experiences from your work so far?

I have fond memories of receiving training at our parent company, Bridgestone's Yokohama Plant, and participating in a project to transfer equipment from there to our Fujinomiya Plant and get it up and running. I still remember the sense of accomplishment I felt when I learned the production process from scratch and successfully got the equipment up and running. I feel that one of the attractive aspects of our company is that even young employees in their first year are entrusted with significant roles. I want to use this experience as a foundation to continue striving to create even better products from the customer's perspective.

In our manufacturing facilities, safety is our top priority, and the thorough implementation of the 3S (Sort, Set in order, Shine) is fundamental. What are the attractive aspects of Archem Business Japan?

Our company's appeal lies in its warm corporate culture that values bottom-up approaches from the front lines and fosters mutual respect.
